What we collect and why

A plain-language account of the personal data collected through this website, the Rebarkit newsletter, and the Rebarkit add-in itself.

Who is responsible for this data

Gábor Schnierer, trading as GRevity Point is the data controller, operating as a sole trader in Budapest, Hungary. Contact privacy@grevitypoint.com for any privacy question or request.

This website

This website does not use analytics scripts, load third-party fonts, or contact MailerLite merely because you view a page. If you submit a newsletter signup form, the information you provide is sent directly to MailerLite for processing. If this changes, this page will be updated first.

Contacting us

When you contact us — by email, LinkedIn, or the contact form on this site — we use the name, email address, and message you provide only to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to the newsletter or use this information for marketing unless you separately subscribe.

The contact form is processed by Formspree, which receives and forwards your submission to us and acts as a processor on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and your confirmation of subscription. We use double opt-in: after you enter your email address, you must confirm the subscription through a confirmation email before receiving anything further. We use this information only to send occasional news and updates about Rebarkit and GRevity Point.

We use MailerLite as our email service provider, which processes subscriber data on our behalf under its own data-protection terms. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every newsletter email.

Newsletter emails include tracking that shows us whether an email was opened and whether a link in it was clicked. We use this only to see whether the newsletter is useful, not to build individual behavioural profiles.

We keep your subscription data while you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you newsletter emails immediately and keep a minimal suppression record (your email address and unsubscribed status) for up to 24 months, solely to prevent accidental resubscription and to demonstrate compliance. After that period the record is deleted or anonymised, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.

Rebarkit

Rebarkit, the Revit® add-in, sends data to two outside services as part of normal operation. Full technical detail is on the technical details page; the summary here is:

Licence activation (LicenseSpring) — activating a licence sends your name, email, company, and country to LicenseSpring for licence validation.
Usage analytics (Mixpanel) — Rebarkit reports command usage to Mixpanel using EU data hosting. These events are linked to your name, email, company, and country. There is currently no built-in opt-out for analytics.

Both LicenseSpring and Mixpanel act as processors on our behalf and are responsible for securing the data in their systems under their own privacy terms. LicenseSpring retains an identifiable licence record for the life of the active licence, plus up to 90 days after termination or deactivation, unless a longer legal retention period applies. Mixpanel does not publish a fixed retention period for lapsed accounts; it keeps data for as long as needed for the service and deletes it on our request or when our relationship with Mixpanel ends.

Data retention and deletion

We do not currently operate an automated self-service deletion tool. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data — from the website, the newsletter, or a Rebarkit licence — email privacy@grevitypoint.com. We respond to requests without undue delay, and in any case within one month.

International data transfers

MailerLite, LicenseSpring, Mixpanel, and Formspree may process or store data outside your own country. Where that happens outside the EU/EEA, it relies on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate data corrected;
request erasure of your data;
restrict or object to certain processing; and
receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@grevitypoint.com. You can also lodge a complaint with Hungary's data protection authority, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), or with the supervisory authority in your own country.
